  • David's Ministry  Through Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Aurora, this ministry help the homeless in Cleveland.  This ministry is in honor of David, a 19 year old who died young, but lived a life of serving others.  He performed mission work in Appalachia, Kansas, and Washington D.C., and his mission is continued through the efforts of others.  To help with this ministry, contact OLPH at www.olphaurora.org.  For a list of specific items to be collected for the backpack ministry, click here

  • Medina Raptor Center - www.medinaraptorcenter.org, A facility which aids in the rehabilitation of injured wildlife (predominantly birds of prey) then releasing them back into the wild, if possible.  This organization is run by volunteers and on donations.

  • Open M  www.openm.org,  Services include a food pantry, a hot lunch program, holiday food basket program, a free medical clinic, after school tutoring, summer camps, legal and employment counseling.  They are run largely by volunteers and would welcome help from Girl Scouts in a variety of capacities.

  • Interfaith Hospitality Network - Summit County  www.ihnsummit.org, Helps families in Summit County regain housing.  Provides temporary living accommodations (at local churches), job search, transportation, re-establishes permanent housing.  Families are getting started with basically nothing.

  • Safe Landing Shelter Care - www.sheltercareinc.org/safelanding.htm, Provides a safe place for children 11-17 yrs old during a time of crisis

  • Haven of Rest - www.havenofrest.org - Market St. in Akron, serving the poor, homeless, and spiritually destitute people.  They have a drop off donation center, home for women and children, soup kitchen, and other facilities.  Contact Jan, and your girls can watch the children while the women do their morning chores, help set the tables in the soup kitchen for lunch, provide cookies and table/tray decorations, bring donations of clothes or food.
